Good evening! As we near New Year’s weekend, we continue to monitor a potential coastal system possible along the Northeast coast. Here’s a quick look at the latest European ensemble EPS low locations, showing where each member of the ensemble places the system Saturday evening. Notice there’s still a wide variety of solutions, lowering overall forecast confidence.
Another feature to watch is the western ridge and how it does not look to amplify significantly, making it tough to create a conducive pattern for big time snow events.
However, this does not mean small changes in the pattern cannot lead to a bigger event. This is something we will be watching closely over the coming days.
